GEN Eisenhower visits with 101st Airborne Division
This project was launched in conjunction with the 65th anniversary of the Allied victory in Europe during WWII. We are very excited. As far as we can tell, this is the only color painting of the famous WWII black and white photograph of General Eisenhower visiting the 101st Airborne Division on the eve of the Normandy invasion in June 1944.
The project is focused on raising money to support veteran’s memorials overseas that are not supported by the government. Funding is supported with the sale of color prints of the famous photograph that is featured on the cover of the book, Victory Principles. This photo is one of the most recognized of all WWII photographs and speaks to the courage of the troops and the concern that the Supreme Commander had for their welfare. It is also emblematic of the service rendered by all veterans.
